Sorry for the delay in keeping the blog up to date!

Here is the latest news from our Board of Directors President, Chris Ruggia:

UPDATE: Jan. 13, 2012 - The Library remains closed during the transition to the new building. Staff and volunteers are working tremendously hard to get ready. We hope to open the doors before the end of January, but opening day will depend on how quickly the access road and parking lot paving can accept vehicle traffic.

The library still has used furniture items for sale including:

• two metal/laminate desks
• various wooden shelves, non-adjustable
• laminate TV/Stereo stand, great condition
• various steel shelves, adjustable, great condition
• heavy duty folding table
• plywood newspaper display shelves

EVERYTHING MUST GO - MAKE A DONATION!  ALL PROCEEDS HELP THE LIBRARY WITH NEW FURNITURE & VARIOUS EXPENSES.

Have you had your eye on a bookshelf or table around the library? This week is your chance to snag it!

The library is holding its USED FURNITURE SALE this Thursday, Friday, & Saturday!  Thursday & Friday 10 AM - 2 PM & Saturday 9 AM - noon, 203 N. 7th St.

All buyers will have to provide their own tools, manpower, & vehicles/trailers!  This fundraiser will benefit the Alpine Public Library and help to pay for equipment and furniture at the new library.

Alpine Public Library’s Halloween Costume Contest was a huge success!  We had almost 30 critters, ghouls, and goblins show up for the event!  Everyone looked great!  To see our photos, and some taken by Cindy Perry (thanks again, Cindy!), check out our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/alpinepubliclibrary

The toddler time program is canceled for the duration of the library move.  Please join us when we re-open in late November!

Stop by October 31st to check out books, DVDs, sit in your favorite chair, or cry over how much you will miss this old place!  The library is closing Tuesday, November 1st to pack up and move to our new location, 805 West Avenue E.  Our opening date will be announced later.

The Alpine High School Junior Class will be holding a haunted house inside the Alpine Public Library, Saturday, October 29, 2011!  The library is closing for the day, but there will be a GOODBYE OLD LIBRARY ice cream social from 11 AM – 1 PM!
