The Marathon Public Library is holding a craft & book sale fundraiser in front of Shirley’s Burnt Biscuit in Marathon on September 2nd & 3rd from 9 AM to 5 PM!

The Alpine and Marathon Public Libraries will be closed on Monday, September 5th for Labor Day.  Both libraries will reopen on Tuesday, September 6th.

Stop by & stock up for the long weekend!

Yarn Arts is today at the Alpine Public Library! It starts at 5 PM, is free as always, and open to the public!  Stop by to ask questions about projects, learn new techniques, or just hang out with the group!  They are a friendly bunch!

Just a reminder that the Alpine Public Library will be closed this Friday, August 26th for inventory!

Be sure to stop by today (open until 5:30 PM) and make any returns or check-outs before the weekend!  We will be open this Saturday, the 27th from 10 AM until 1 PM.

Intermediate Computer Education Classes for Adults begin August 16 through September 8!  This session will concentrate on Microsoft Office productivity software packages.  Topics will include Microsoft Excel & Word among others.  Funding for this program is generously provided by the Union Pacific Foundation.  This class is limited to 10 students so sign up now! Call the library @ 432-837-2621 if you are interested!

The summer reading program will be held June 30, at 3pm, in the Alpine Public Library.  Children will hear Polynesian myths, make a tiki tapa bookmark, and look at a piece of banana under a microscope.  Kids will also have fun playing “pass the coconut” and Kumu Hula, a Hawaiian word game.  For more information, call the library at 837-2621.

The summer reading program will be held from 3-4pm, June 23, in the Junior Room.  Come meet Captain Silversword, a friendly pirate who will entertain the group with creative balloon twisting!  Kids will also hear pirate poetry, make a treasure map, and look at gold nuggets under a microscope.  This program is for children ages 6-10.  For more information, call the library at 837-2621.
